Dating Fun Made Online
March 12th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedAt present there are dating sites that have a database of over 3.5 million users, of which the percentage is about 48% men and 52 % women. It is said that over the last year people spent around 1 billion dollars on dating sites and this is only in US. In the first years after 2000 the growing rate was extraordinary, it increased with over 50%, and it was only after 2005 that the acceleration rate started to slow down so the companies began investing much more into this business in order preserve and fortify their market position. Nowadays, most of the singles start dating by making fun online.
In the early ’90s the sites weren’t very design-oriented, actually partners dating made fun online. Imagine that you couldn’t see all those photos that get your attention. The dating sites were just providing an exchange of plain text messages, and many who saw those sites and the ones that are now say that those days online dating was more focused on dialog, while nowadays it relies on pictures. In those days it was really an extraordinary thing for people from different parts of the world to communicate with each other, today everyone is used with this worldwide facility and sites are just focusing in attracting new comers while are desperately trying not to lose the ones they already have.
Because of the slower growth rate, companies acting in the online dating business are developing new ideas to attract new members, I saw a successful campaign of rewarding the best profile header, the funniest ones were: “Willing to lie about how we met!!!” , “Is this like eBay?” or “How many more frogs do I have to kiss to find my prince?” and the one I liked the most : “ I’m like poop. The older I get the easier I am to pick up!”. So as you see people dating made fun online and no doubt, solid humor does still exist.
Besides the dating fun made online, many couples that meet each other over the Internet stop contact after the first date. This fast ending issue is usually provoked by not telling the truth. If you say you are forty but you post a picture of you from high-school just imagine the first impression you will make on your partner. Or if you say you like skiing but haven’t been on a ski-run your entire life, what is your date to make of it? So my advice is always tell the truth, a relationship based on truth has bigger chances of success.
